Setting Up Your Tax Jurisdictions

A very helpful feature of Tinsel CRM is that you can set up multiple tax jurisdictions. This makes it easy to keep track of who pays which tax. It is also helpful during tax season so you know which tax agency you owe and exactly how much.

To set up your tax jurisdiction:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Proposals.
  2. Locate the section labeled “Taxes”.
  3. Click the green + button,
  4. Name your Tax.
    1. Example: Philadelphia County
  5. Add your percentage.
    1. Example: 8.5%
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. That’s it! You just created a Tax Jurisdiction!

Notes:

  1. You can select which tax applies to which customer on a proposal level.
  2. You can only add one Tax to a proposal. So if you have a local tax and a state tax, add them together.
    • For example, PA charges 6% tax. Philadelphia Country charges 2.5% tax. Create a tax named “Philadelphia County” and charge 8.5%. This will ensure you are collecting the proper amount of tax.
